Changes to the Guideline Calculator

Starting Sept 1, 2024, the state laws governing child support calculations have been changed.  These changes better reflect the financial realities of parenting today. If an order is reviewed for modification after Sept 1, it may result in a change to what a parent currently paying support is ordered to pay even if the information used in the calculation has stayed the same.

We cannot guarantee that an existing child support order will increase or decrease and the change will not be automatically applied without someone asking for a review.

Request a Modification
If you decide you would like to request a review of your support order, you can do that through your Customer Connect account or by contacting the child support office directly. You can also file your own motion with the court (contact the Family Law Facilitator).
 
 If you request a modification through our office, we will mail the paperwork to you. Fill out the paperwork and mail or bring into our office within 20 business days. If your case qualifies for a modification, we will contact both parties to determine if there is agreement on the new child support amount. 

If you and the other parent agree, a written agreement will be sent to you to sign and a court date will not be required. If we can’t reach an agreement your caseworker will set up the court date and notify you of when and where you need to appear to have the matter addressed. 

Court dates for child support are usually on a Tuesday morning and if needed, you will be able to set up appearing by phone

If You Cannot Pay
 If you cannot make your full payment, pay as much as you can until we can get your order reviewed.
